Change Empowerment Lab: Session 2 — Planning & Strategy

In Lab 1, we focused on building early awareness and engagement so stakeholders understand the why behind the change. In this session, we focus on strategy—mapping the change before implementation begins. Prosci’s 2023 research shows that when leaders look back on their projects, they wish they had involved stakeholders and sponsors earlier, communicated sooner and more consistently, and aligned change efforts more closely with the project plan. This lab helps you do that work upfront by connecting change management activities to key project milestones—so engagement, communication, and support are planned intentionally and positioned to help the project hit its goals.

In this session, participants will be able to:

• Clarify the roles and responsibilities needed to engage stakeholders and build support for the project
• Identify priority change management activities and resource considerations that support project success
• Assess which elements of their project or change plan are emerging, missing, or need strengthening

At the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a starter Change Planning Checklist, initial inputs for their change strategy, and a clear sense of where to focus their efforts as the project moves forward.
