Changa Chet (Kite Flying Festival)

Kite flying was a fun tradition growing up in Nepal. As kids, we used to make kites ourselves or buy them from a nearby shop. We would then spend hours flying them high up in the sky, sometimes even getting lost in the clouds. The excitement of cutting other kites and yelling "Chet" among the group of friends and families is one of the best parts. But since we migrated to the USA, we couldn't get a chance to rewind that kite-flying tradition and revive those childhood memories. Thus, through this event, we want to encourage Nepalese living in USA to participate in kite flying and feel the joy and excitement it offers. Our goal is to preserve tradition and connect with society while bringing back the same excitement and joy we used to have in our childhood. We want to make people feel young again and restore their sense of being a child.
