Champions of the Community
This special reception supports the Center for Autism’s (CFA) mission to improve the quality of life for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Proceeds will support CFA's full continuum of assessment and treatment services for children, adults and families.
The reception will include an awards ceremony, silent auction, cocktails, heavy hors d'oeuvres, jazz band, guest DJ, and dancing.
By joining us, you stand alongside our honoree, Sheila Mitchell-Green, as a community champion, helping to create brighter futures for families navigating autism.
Our Honoree
Sheila Mitchell-Green is a dedicated autism advocate, parent, community leader, and educator whose advocacy journey began when her son was diagnosed with autism in early childhood. As a first-time parent, Sheila quickly learned that navigating the autism service system required persistence, education, and strong advocacy. Her family's experience became the foundation for a lifelong commitment to helping other families access information, resources, services, and support.
Early in her journey, Sheila connected with The Center for Autism, where her son received support for sensory and tactile challenges, including significant food sensitivities. The strategies and resources provided by CFA helped her family better understand autism and develop approaches that improved her son's daily experiences and quality of life.
What began as a parent's effort to understand and advocate for her child has evolved into a lifelong commitment to autism awareness, inclusion, community engagement, and advocacy.
