Champagne Tasting Maison Cuperly
About this Event
Champagne is always a story too. At Cuperly, it's a long one, and a good one, going back to 1845.
Eight generations of one family in Verzy, right at the heart of the Grand Cru terroir of the Montagne de Reims. Today the sixth and eighth generations work side by side in the cellar, which is rare and gives the house a calmness you can actually taste in the glass. 147 oak barrels, a full year of barrel ageing before a single bottle is even filled, then years on the lees after that. This is craft that takes its time, and that's exactly what comes through.
For our Bonnie Wine Club members, we're opening up that world for one evening. Pierre Samuel comes straight from Maison Cuperly and will guide us through five cuvees, from a bright Blanc de Blancs through a classic Brut and a Rose with real character, up to the Prestige Brut and finally the Millesime 2018 as the grand finale. All Grand Cru, one of the rarest classifications in Champagne, from the villages of Verzy, Verzenay and Mailly-Champagne.
