Ten of Mount Rose, Minnesota's brightest young things are competing for the title of Miss American Teen Princess, but when the contestants begin to drop dead (albeit gorgeously), the dark underbelly of a perky American tradition is exposed. Released in 1999 to surprisingly little fanfare, this mockumentary send-up of small-town ambition pits queen bee Denise Richards against trailer park princess Kirsten Dunst, Broadway baby Brittany Murphy, and a thirsty young Amy Adams (her debut!) in a test of wit, grit, and baton-twirling.
