About this Event

This event is open to Chamber members. If you are not currently a member, and would like more information on membership please contact [email protected]

Join us for this event at Durham County Cricket Club, combining the Chamber Connect networking event with the South of Tyne annual review and AGM. The South of Tyne area includes Durham, Sunderland and Gateshead.

Event running order:

· 10:00 – 11:00 | Chamber Connect Informal mix and mingle Networking around exhibition stands with coffee and pastries. Find out more about Chamber awards at the awards stand.

· 11:00 – 12:00 | Annual Review and AGM including area review of the year.

As part of our regional AGM this year, we will also be conducting a session on inclusivity and asking for your views (around tables of 10). Join the conversation and help to shape support for employers improve access to employment for everyone in the North East.

This will be followed by informal networking.

Event format:

· Chamber Connect: It’s an easy going, drop-in style networking event. Our membership account managers will be there to introduce you to other members and help you get connected. No agenda, no pressure - just good conversations.

· AGM format: The Chamber South of Tyne Annual Review and AGM is traditionally one of our flagship events in the north of the region. It’s an opportunity to connect with a diverse range of members, hear about the Chamber's key achievements over the past year, and learn what’s on the horizon for the local business community.

The North East Chamber of Commerce, working with Interdigitate on behalf of the North East Combined Authority (NECA), is conducting research to understand how employers can be better supported to widen access to work while addressing recruitment challenges.

We want to hear directly from employers about the barriers you face, what would make inclusive recruitment and flexible job design easier, and how regional employer support could work better. Your insights will help shape new approaches and inform regional policy and programmes.

Why should I attend?

· Chamber Connect: Expand your network, meet new contacts, and share ideas with passionate North East business professionals. Chamber events focus on building long-term connections and growing your business network - not just selling.

· AGM: Anyone with a business or interest in the developments within the area. Chamber Area Reviews & AGMs are area-focused policy events that help keep you up to date on developments, opportunities and business news in your local area.

What do I wear to a Chamber event: We don’t have a dress code, but we suggest dressing as if meeting new clients. Your comfort is key.

Behaviour and conduct: our events create an inclusive space for individuals and organisations to meet, where we expect all our attendees to behave with courtesy and respect, to both each other and Chamber colleagues.
