Course Overview:

This course focuses on understanding and addressing cultural biases and stereotypes in social work practice. Participants will explore how personal and systemic biases impact their work and learn strategies to recognize and mitigate these biases. The course covers key concepts of cultural competence and provides techniques for creating inclusive, culturally sensitive practices. Through real-world case studies, interactive group discussions, and role-playing exercises, participants will build self-awareness, develop empathy, and practice bias reduction strategies to enhance their social work practice.

  • Identifying biases in social work through case studies and reflection.
  • Developing strategies to challenge personal biases and promote cultural humility.
