The Museums & Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) is excited to announce the 19th annual of Chalk the Block, which will take place in the heart of the Downtown Arts District on October 3 & 4, 2026! What started as a one-day event featuring twelve artists has now transformed into a weekend-long celebration of art, color, and community.
This FREE, family-friendly event includes:
-A juried chalk art competition, featuring artists of three levels creating sidewalk chalk art masterpieces during the festival
-Larger-than-life interactive art installations
-Over 50 artisan vendors selling unique, handcrafted goods
-Free, hands-on arts and cultural experiences
-Food trucks and tasty treats
-Live music on two stages, featuring a mix of local and traveling artists
We’re proud to showcase the local artistic talent that makes El Paso unique alongside touring and international artists, all for FREE!
Festival hours are Saturday, October 3, 2026 (10am to 10pm | Quiet Hours 10am to 12pm) and Sunday, October 4, 2026 (10am to 6pm | Quiet Hours 10am to 12pm). Chalk the Block is presented by Raiz Federal Credit Union, who will be joining us and celebrating their 90th anniversary!
We can’t wait to see you there!
