About this Event
The workshop will focus on the basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of chainsaws. Routine maintenance deep dive will include how and when to clean your saw, basic small-engine introduction, and troubleshooting of common problems with saws.
You do not HAVE to bring/own a chainsaw. However, if you have one you'd like to bring you can familiarize yourself with your own tool.
An in-depth portion covering proper chain types, sharpening, and tensioning will also be covered.
Materials Needed (we will provide but feel free to bring your own to get familiar with your tools)
- Carburetor cleaner spray
- Basic socket kit, with deep seat socket
- Flathead screwdriver
- Safety glasses
- Work gloves

- 2-Cycle System (Intake, Compression, Combustion, Exhaust)
- Ignition System (Ignition coil and spark plug)
- Fuel System (Fuel filter and fuel types)
- 5-Point Check
- Troubleshooting
- Bar and Chain maintenance and proper fitting
Space is limited to 15 people. We will have a waiting list if you miss your chance to signup. If you reserve a spot but cannot attend PLEASE cancel your RSVP so someone from the waiting list will have a chance to attend.
This class is offered for FREE but a donation of $25 is suggested.
Donations can be made in advance via venmo @AshevilleToolLibrary. Via paypal. Or in person, day of the event by cash or card. Please note that it's for the Chainsaw Workshop with the donation.
