Chad Bird is an LCMS trained, seminary professor caliber teacher who is with 1517.org. He will be presenting a seminar called “Walking Backward to Bethlehem: How Christ Permeates the Old Testament” on April 21-22, 2023. Friday • 6:30pm-8:30pm Wine, Cheese, et al
• Session 1: The Layered Bible that Jesus Read
Chad Bird begins with a discussion of how the Old Testament builds upon itself, image upon image and story upon story, to point to Jesus.
Saturday • 9am-12pm Breakfast bar
• Session 2: Appearances of Christ in the Old Testament
In this second session, Chad Bird discusses something rarely acknowledged: actual, physical appearances of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament.
• Session 3: New Creation and New Exodus
In his third session, Chad Bird discusses an "Old Testament accented" way of preaching the Gospel: the people of God exiled and welcomed home.
• Session 4: Christ as the New Tabernacle
Chad Bird closes with a proclamation of the Good News of God in Christ from Genesis to Revelation...literally. In Jesus, God comes to be with his people.
