CfD (Centre for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People) is hosting a festival to celebrate positive community action and the talents that Deaf and hard of hearing people have.
Date: Saturday 29th March 2025
Time: 11:00am – 3:00pm
Venue - Vassall Centre, Gill Avenue, Fishponds, Bristol BS16 2QQ
The focus of our celebration will be on our deaf-led community groups, giving them a space to display their activities and to raise awareness of what they do.
This will include taster sessions and have-a-go activities that are open to everybody.
Everybody is very welcome to attend. Activities/demonstrations and talks will be accessible for everybody with British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters, live captions, and hearing loop systems available throughout the day.
Our event will include:
- Taster British Sign Language drop-in classes
- Lipreading sessions
- Stalls and information from many of the deaf-led community
groups
The day will be celebrating what Deaf and hard of hearing people achieve together, where they are recognised as the leaders, as the experts and as agents of community cohesion.
