CFBAA Foundation in partnership with ERAU's Aviation Professionals Collegiate Group (APCG) will present Mission Aviation Day, a powerful opportunity to shine a spotlight on the often-overlooked world of missions and mission aviation—a sector that plays a vital role in delivering aid, medical care, and essential support to remote and under-served communities around the globe. Despite its life-changing impact, this field remains unfamiliar to many students and even to professionals within the aviation industry.By bringing together the aircraft, stories, and people behind these operations, we aim to inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation for this unique and vital work. Highlighting different mission organizations and their aviation efforts not only educates attendees—it also creates pathways for collaboration, builds support, and opens doors to future careers in humanitarian work and aviation.
For students, Mission Aviation Day is a chance to see how their skills can be applied to a greater purpose. For organizations, it’s a platform to share their mission, connect with passionate individuals, and form lasting partnerships. This event is more than a static display—it’s an invitation to discover a world where aviation meets humanitarian service, and a chance to connect the next generation of professionals to opportunities that make a meaningful global impact.
Below are the aircraft and companies currently scheduled to participate, with more in the works. All are subject to change due to last-minute mission needs. One of the highlights will be Samaritan’s Purse’s DC-8, which may be making its final public appearance before retirement in December. This is one of only four airworthy DC-8s in the world—a rare opportunity for attendees to see an aviation legend up close!
Sponsorship and donation opportunities are available now at CFBAA.org under the “Meetings” tab. All proceeds raised above the cost of the event will be distributed to the participating mission organizations. No donation is too small, and every contribution is fully tax deductible through the foundations 501c3.
Mission Aviation Day will be held November 21st at the Sheltair FBO in Daytona Beach and is open to everyone—so be sure to reserve your spot today. A heartfelt thank-you goes to Sheltair for generously opening their facility to host this special event!
