About this Event

Part of the 2024 CETI Enchanted Technology Festival

Aug 3, 2024. 10:30am -- 2:00pm.

Calling all Creators/Creative technologists, we need your help in creating immersive experiences, interactive Ar/XR, gen Ai experience creation, illustration, vfx, animation, 3D, web XR, storytelling, and interactive web maps.

We are working on final creations for an XR storytelling tour for two of our amazing projects below. Please join us (drop-in) for a series of collaborative hack sessions/creative jams to help the researchers, artists, and community members bring their ideas to life in the world.

1. XRchive, our collaborative storytelling project to create experiences, tours and provocations in place around (hi)stories of migrations and displacements, injustice and racism, and future visions of Portland. Through these multimedia experiences, we will infuse the Portland landscape with vivid experiences that challenge and subvert systems and symbols of power, inspiring conversations in place around a reimagined future for Portland.

Our first Prototype focusses on stories bringing the history and culture to life of Chinese immigrants buried at Block 14 at Lone Fir Cemetery with creations launching on late Aug, October, and December 2024

2. Postcards from Our Climate Resilient Future, our NEA Our Town Creative Placemaking project, brings to life voices and ideas of communities through a series of interactive experiences (augmented posters, postcards experiences, and artifacts) depicting imaginative, joyful and hopeful visions of a just climate future in Multnomah County. The project brings to life tactics and imagined futures in ways that are personal, poignant, powerful, and memorable, creating a storyscape accessible to all residents.

An opportunity for informal experiential learning, for finding new collaborators, learning new skills, and mentoring and networking.
