Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) Review Course

This program prepares the learner to:

• Describe the CNRN Exam, test plan and the practice requirements to sit for the exam.
• Construct a study plan for the exam based on understanding the blueprint and domains of practice covered.
• Identify common mistakes and pitfalls that are made during studying and testing for the exam.
• Recall the core components covered in the exam through didactic supplementation and test questions.

The candidate must have current, unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse valid through the date of the examination in

• the United States
• Canada
• a U.S. territory that grants licensure utilizing the U.S. State Board Test Pool Examination or National Council for Licensure Examination.

Candidates from other countries will be considered if they meet a comparable licensure requirement and can read and understand the English language. Please note licensure must be verified for equivalency by CGFNS, WES, or Educational Records Evaluation Services (ERES) prior to submitting your application to ABNN.

The candidate must have at least 1 year of full-time experience (or 2,080 hours) in either direct or indirect neuroscience nursing practice during the past 3 years.

Kendra Menzies Kent, MS, RN, CCRN, CNRN, SCRN, TCRN, MSCN, Medsurg-BC

Kendra graduated at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1985 with her BSN. She graduated from Parkland Memorial Hospital’s Critical Care & Trauma Nurse Internship. She has worked in the surgery/trauma, thoracic and neurosurgical ICU at Parkland Memorial Hospital as a staff nurse and nurse educator. Kendra has been a manager on a trauma floor and the director of critical care at Zale Lipshy University Hospital in Dallas. She has her Master of Nursing from Texas Woman’s University as a clinical nurse specialist and has worked as a CNS in the surgical trauma ICU.

Kendra moved to Florida and is currently the director of the Marcus Neuroscience Institute neuroscience programs associated with Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Kendra is known for providing engaging presentations and supports continued education for nurses.
