Certified Citizen Planners Training

Join us for the Certified Citizen Planners Training, a three-day workshop series designed to give community members a deeper understanding of how planning works and how they can make a difference in their communities. Whether you're serving on a planning commission, city board, or just want to get more involved in local decision-making, this training will equip you with the knowledge and tools to participate confidently and effectively.

Attendees will learn about:

• Basic planning principles and current design practices
• The role of Planning Commissions and Boards of Adjustment
• How public meetings and engagement processes work
• Comprehensive plans, zoning, subdivisions, and building codes
• Advanced planning tools and how they benefit your community

When: August 15, 22, and 29, 2025

Where: OG&E Office, 321 North Harvey Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73102

Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM each day

Thanks to the generous support of OG&E, registration is free and lunch will be provided each day. All attendees must bring a valid form of government-issued ID.

This is a three-part training, with each date covering different content. You are welcome to attend one, two, or all three days. Please register for each day you plan to attend so we can plan ahead for meals and materials.

NOTE: Certification can only be achieved by attending all three days.
