Let’s gather, remember and appreciate transgender folks. We will read the names of those taken violently this year, and we will invite stories and comments from those present who want to share. We’ll also have a remembrance board for paper notes and thoughts. We will carry the remembrance board with us up to UNBC after the ceremony. It will be displayed near the Memorial Ceremony for the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women (Dec. 6 but marked on Nov. 20), for additional witnessing and comments. We welcome all of those wanting to stand (or sit) in remembrance of transgender lives lost, and in solidarity with the remarkable richness and resilience that transgender folks bring to communities around the world.Coffee and donuts will be provided. All genders welcome.
