This short taster course is ideal as an introduction to working creatively with clay.Cyan Clayworks is an artist-run, non-profit studio and teaching space established in 2012.
This workshop is aimed at adult beginners who would like an introduction to making ceramics. It will be run by both Fiona and Chris, so everyone gets enough practical input. You will be able to make and decorate an unique set of handmade tiles using coloured slips; creating colour, pattern and texture. Each person will be introduced to wheelthrowing; we will take you through the basics of each stage and everyone will make a small pot each. Your pieces will be finished, fired and glazed for you ready to collect a few weeks later.
Like all our courses, class sizes are limited so lots of hands-on support. The price is inclusive of booking fee, materials, preparation, glazing and firings.
