Ceramic Workshop: Sculpting in the Mass

Freeform Sculpture | Workshop with Cathy Deprez
Working directly in the mass follows a completely different logic than building up piece by piece: you start with a solid block and decide what to take away.
In this hands-on, two-day workshop, Belgian ceramist Cathy Deprez introduces you to both subtractive and additive modeling techniques to craft expressive, freeform sculptures full of depth and movement.
Across 4 hours over two days, you will explore how to carve, shape, and sculpt raw material into a unique piece of art. Held inside Subtile’s vibrant gallery setting, this hands-on class lets you unwind, connect with others, and discover the tactile magic of subtractive clay modeling. Welcoming all skill levels, adults, and teens (12+).
