Join artist Tom Hubbard and set sail on a New Bedford harbor cruise to discover the art of scrimshaw, inspired by 19th-century whalers.
As you take in views of the historic waterfront, you will learn how to carve your own ceramic whale tooth (made of clay!) with an original design using traditional scrimshaw techniques. Your piece will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup approximately 2-4 weeks later at the New Bedford Creative office at the New Bedford Economic Development Council.
Answer the call to join the ship’s crew and learn a time-honored whaling tradition. Only 12 berths are available – sign on before this vessel shoves off!
