Ceramic Plate Workshop

Students will gather to create a one of a kind ceramic plate. This plate will be functional- you can put it in the microwave and the dishwasher. Students will receive materials and instructions to complete one slab built plate. The MAC will build a plate before the workshop and students are able to add clay on top of the surface, or carve clay out of the surface. We will be working with highly pigmented paints called underglazes to create color on our plates.

The MAC staff and hardworking volunteers will clear glaze the plates and fire them to 1828 degrees. When they come back to you they will be functional ceramics, dishwasher & microwave safe. These plates will need to be picked up 2 weeks after the class date at Cleveland Heath.
