Abstract
SAIT is proud to host the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) members for an exclusive event at the newly established Centre for Innovation and Research in Advanced Manufacturing and Materials (CIRAMM). As a designated NATO DIANA centre, CIRAMM offers innovation and applied research services across various industries, including energy, aerospace, defense, and construction.
The event will feature a guided tour led by CIRAMM's Research Chair, Dr. Hamid Rajani, providing attendees with a first-hand look at CIRAMM's state-of-the-art laboratories and unique capabilities. Participants will explore advanced materials characterization techniques such as microscopy, non-destructive testing (NDT) via microtomography, mechanical testing, and spectroscopy. Additionally, cutting-edge materials processing technologies, including laser-directed energy deposition (DED), powder atomization, advanced alloy design, additive manufacturing, and sintering, will be showcased.
Visitors will also discover CIRAMM's robotics capabilities, large-scale robot-assisted 3D printing, generative design, and simulation tools. This event is an opportunity for industry professionals to learn how they can collaborate with SAIT and CIRAMM to leverage these advanced resources in their work.
