Please join us to celebrate 50 years of Central Village Park. We will have food and activities for all!
The Central Village Neighborhood and Park Block Club was created in 2023 to collaborate with organizations to ensure the continuance of living in a safe, secure, and healthy community where BIPOC families build on the legacy of their forefathers using homeownership as a cornerstone to generational wealth and economic parity for future generations.
The Central Village neighborhood, created during the mid-seventies, is a body of land which was set aside for African American descendants of Rondo who were displaced due to the construction of freeway 94. The designated area encompasses, Dale to Western Streets and University to St. Anthony Avenues. Now fifty years later the neighborhood and park need major reinvestment and revitalization.
In 2023, the community partners came together and created the Central Village Neighborhood and Park Block Club which will engage the neighborhood in current and future plans for the community and the redevelopment plan for the park.
