🌲 This walk starts with a loop of Central Park on the Trail of Hope. Then we walk the BC Parkway (that follows the Expo Line) to Ron Mclean Park. The route is flat to this point. From Ron McLean Park, we’ll take the trail around Byrne Creek Ravine to get a bit of cardio with 77 meters of elevation gain including the 200 stairs. We will take a lunch break at the bottom of the Byrne Creek Ravine Trail or at Ron McLean Park, then finish the walk at Edmonds Station.

Distance: 11.8km
There are opportunities to transit out of the walk if you want to leave earlier.
If you want to add to the walk, we can add a reverse loop of the ravine (45min) and/or continue to 22nd Street Station (30min).
📍 Meeting Spot: Patterson Skytrain Station, Central Park (west side) entrance/exit, before 10:00AM.
Be sure to arrive early/on time. I do not have data and cannot check the fb page for comments after 9:00. If you are running late and I have not heard from you, my assumption is that you are not coming and you will be marked as a no show. People with multiple no-shows will be removed from the group. We can wait for people running a couple of minutes late. If we leave before you arrive, you can catch up to us with a little effort.
🕒 This walk should be under 3.5 hours including a lunch break, and 11.8km. We will walk at an intermediate (4kmh) pace, take microbreaks (~1min) at various junctions, and a lunch break near the end. The walk can be shortened if there is more than light rain.

🚌Transit options: Skytrain Expo Line or 129 Holdom Station/Hastings/Patterson Station bus to Patterson Station.
Many buses go to Metrotown Station (less than 1km away from Patterson Station).
🚙 Parking: Patterson Ave north of Kingsway is free parking. There are meters and/or parking restrictions around Patterson Station south of Kingsway. If you want to park near the end of the walk, there is free parking at Ron McLean Park.
🧻 Washrooms: Central Park tennis courts and playground, Metrotown Station, and Ron Mclean Park.
🍎 Please bring plenty of water and a lunch.
