About this Event

Starting at the southwest corner of the park near Columbus Circle, the tour will take us all around to see a variety of rock types, shapes, and stories. You will be provided with a mini packet of the information and are encouraged to check off things on a geology scavenger hunt!

We will be seeing lots of rock and mineral varieties including schist, granite, ambibolite, mica, quartz, and garnet, so you'll be loaned a geologic hand lense to inspect these textures up close. You may choose to keep the hand lens afterwards which would be an additional $9 through Eventbrite or $7 with cash or other digital payment.

NOTE: The tour will end at the north side of the park, so please plan ahead your transportation back to wherever you have to go! We will be close to the 96th street subway.

Any comments or questions should be sent directly to [email protected] to bypass the complicated Eventbrite communication system.
