FREE for Enzian Members!Central Florida Film Slam (CFFS) is a program designed to provide filmmakers in the Central Florida region an opportunity to showcase their work on the big screen at Enzian Theater!
Originally a project of University of Central Florida’s Downtown Media Arts Center, Enzian became home to “FilmSlam” when DMAC closed in 2006. Now known as the Central Florida Film Slam, this showcase continues to be a popular screening and networking outlet for independent and student filmmakers–with specific educational and developmental benefits for those working and living in the Central Florida community.
Held six times a year, the Central Florida Film Slam is an unrated, independent film showcase and competition open to all regional filmmakers and students.
This series empowers audience members to select a winning film, which then advances to the selections committee for Enzian’s Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase.
Additionally, one of the audience award-winning films will be selected by the programming committee of the Florida Film Festival for direct acceptance into the following year’s New Florida Shorts program.

– Filmmakers will have access to information sessions and workshops highlighting development aspects for production, best practices for submitting to film festivals from start to finish, what festivals to submit to, when to submit, why it is important to go to certain festivals, the politics of premiere status, and when to cut your losses and move on to a new project. Information and dates for these sessions will be available on Enzian’s website as they become available.
