About this Event
Center Stage: 30 Years on 38th Street Fall Festival
Our Fall Festival is more than a show—it’s a celebration of the people, stories, and traditions that shape our creative landscape. Come savor the sounds, movements, and flavors that define our community. Whether you’re a longtime CFPA supporter or discovering us for the first time, everyone is welcome to experience the joy and depth of South Minneapolis’ arts scene.
Let’s celebrate three decades of creating, connecting, and uplifting—together.
Featured Artist Include:
- Acoustic Soul – Vocalist LaSonya Natividad, originally from Louisiana and now based in Rochester, blends the warmth of Southern gospel with jazz and soul. Alongside guitarist Rocky Schultz, this duo reimagines R&B, pop, rock, and classic favorites with acoustic heart and flair.
- Uptown Swing – Peter Strom and Naomi Uyama, founders of Uptown Swing, are internationally renowned Lindy Hop champions who now share their love of swing through global teaching and performance. Their decades of experience light up every stage they touch.
- Kizomba Mpls – Dedicated to building an inclusive and joyful Kizomba dance community, this Twin Cities group brings the rhythms and culture of Angola to life through weekly classes, monthly socials, and vibrant performances.
- Duniya Drum & Dance – Under the leadership of master drummer Fodé Bangoura, this ensemble shares the powerful traditional rhythms and dances of Guinea, West Africa. A former lead drummer with Guinea’s national ballet, Fodé brings global acclaim and deep cultural roots to every performance.
- Compassionate Artists of the Heart (CAOTH) Butō Club – Founded by Masanari Kawahara and Lelis Brito, this new collective introduces audiences to the raw beauty of Butō, a form of Japanese expressionist dance theatre that explores movement as ritual, resistance, and art
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
