Artists:
Cassie and Maggie MacDonald: August 1 & 29 - Nova Scotian sisters Cassie and Maggie have been lighting up the world with their unique blend of traditional and contemporary Celtic instrumentals and vocals. Appearing on stages across North America, the UK, and Europe the sisters have enchanted audiences far and wide with lively fiddle, piano and guitar arrangements, stunning sibling vocal harmonies in both English and Gaelic, all complemented by their intricate and percussive stepdancing style.
The East Enders: July 25 & August 22 - The East Enders are an acoustic folk-rock trio based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, best known for performing energetic interpretations of traditional Maritime folk songs. Their table-banging, foot-stomping, live shows always bring a level of energy and fun that helps make any event memorable! Matt Howard (Vocals, Bodhran), Josh Bennett (Vocals, Guitar, Stomp Pedal), and Iain Beaton (Fiddle), bring fresh energy to classic pub songs and new favorites by giving them an East Coast feel that not only provides their audience with a taste of Nova Scotia, but keeps the dance floor packed, and the party hopping while singing along. Spirited live performances have long been an earmark of the group since their coming together in 2015. In the tradition of the cheerful Maritime "kitchen party," their shows are as much communal celebrations as they are musical shows.
Rachel and Darren: August 15 & September 12 - Rachel Davis - fiddler and singer from Baddeck, Victoria County was chosen as the 2009 recipient of the Frank “Big Sampie” Sampson award, leading to the release of her debut album that year. She released her second album, Turns in 2013, which was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award, and two East Coast Music Awards, including New Artist Recording of the Year. Darren McMullen is a highly sought-after multi-instrumentalist whose list of instruments includes mandolin, bouzouki, tenor banjo, whistles, guitar and bass—but he started out on piano as a youngster. He has since released three solo albums and been busy touring and recording as a sideman with a wide range of bands including the Rankin family, Matt Andersen, David Francey and many Cape Breton fiddlers. Rachel and Darren have been touring and recording together since 2012 with their band Còig, traveling all over North America, Europe and Australia. They have since started working on a duo recording which will be released in the Fall of 2023.
