Essex born folk songwriter Beans on Toast is an extremely unique performer. Twisting an age-old genre with a D.I.Y. approach and contemporary concerns has earned him the title of a cult figure who tells it like it is. A festival favourite (he’s played Glastonbury every year since 2005) and a prolific writer and performer. He’s written and recorded 15 albums and he’s played every bar, club, venue, pub, festival, party and honky-tonk you can think of.
He’s constantly writing, recording and releasing music and puts out a new album each year on 1st December, which happens to be his birthday. Each album recorded with a different producer and musicians, over the years he’s worked with the likes of Ben Lovett (Mumford & Sons), Blaine Harrison (Mystery Jets), Frank Turner, Kitty and Lewis Durham (Kitty, Daisy & Lewis).
Singer-songwriter Will Varley has come a long way since his early days haunting the open mics of South London and busking around on The Underground. Staying true to the roots of folk by combining personal storytelling with political statements, Will has has supported acts like Billy Bragg, Frank Turner, Valerie June and The Proclaimers. His latest album The Hole Around My Head was described by Folk Radio as "A magnificent album that mines diamonds of hope from the rock of despair". Will is one of the founding members of the arts collective Smugglers Records and has co-written songs with numerous artists including Skin of Skunk Anansie and Shae Dupuy.
