Davey Music is delighted to announce that on Sunday December 21st 2025 we will once again be presenting our ‘Celtic Carols by Candlelight’ event, which was a great success last year, raising over £1,300.00 for St. Vincent de Paul. You are invited to take some time out of the typically busy final Sunday before Christmas, and join with our musicians and singers as they present a beautiful programme of seasonal music and readings from Ireland and the other Celtic nations. The event will last for around one hour and this year we are supporting the charity Mary’s Meals which works throughout the world to alleviate child hunger. Admission is free but we will be inviting those attending, both in person and online, to make donations to Mary’s Meals. The event will last for around 1 hour and the church will be lit by candles. Everyone is welcome to join us for what promises to be a very special, relaxing and worthwhile event. The event will take place in St. Michael’s Church, Finaghy Road North, beginning at 7 pm, and the event is being presented in association with the West Belfast family of parishes, and there will also be congregational carol singing as part of the event.
Music will be performed by:
Patrick Davey: uilleann pipes, flute & whistle
Fionnuala Fagan: fiddle & vocals
Bronagh Muldoon: harp & whistle
Róise Ní Mhurchú: vocals
Clare Galway: fiddle & vocals
Kathy McKeagney: piano
Grace Rainey: fiddle
Readings by Fionnuala Fagan & Marcas Ó Murchú
With special thanks to Fr. Ciarán Feeney PP St. Michael's for making this event possible, and also to Caoimhe McCann the local representative of Mary’s Meals for her kind assistance.
