Celtic Caim - Pauline Vallance (Scotland) and Heather Innes
Celtic Caim concerts have been described as "hauntingly beautiful harmony singing,” a capella and accompanied by clasarch, flute or bodhrán. An eclectic mix of Celtic songs, songs written by various songwriters, including Pauline & Heather, plus jigs or reels on flute and bodhrán to get your feet tapping!
Pauline Vallance (vocals, clasarch, flute) is a singer/songwriter from Ayrshire, Scotland. She loves singing traditional songs from Ireland and Scotland, plus her own songs, and she has a highly developed sense of the
absurd!
Pauline performs regularly throughout the UK. Her live performances have been described as 'delightful and convivial on so many levels' and hilarious and totally batshit.
Pauline’s latest album, “The World's a Gift”, funded by Creative Scotland, was nominated for Scottish Album of the Year.
She has written theatre shows about poets Robert Burns and Robert Tannahill, as well as “Echoes of the Land”, which explores the experience of leaving one's homeland and the longing for home.
Heather Innes (vocals, bodhrán) moved to New Zealand in 2022 after living and singing in Australia and the UK.
In a concert, Heather sings from her heart, from powerful ballads to gentle lullabies, with a timely sense of humour in between.
Heather began singing professionally in 1990 after recording her first album All’s Fair in Love and War' at Spring Records, Rostrevor, Northern Ireland in 1989.
Over the years, she has toured solo, in bands and duos, in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Canada and the USA.
As well as recording 16 albums with various bands and duos, Heather has five solo CDs.
