About this Event

16-year-old cellist William Miguel Johnson is the second recipient of the National Arts Club’s Herman and Mary Neuman Music Award. Johnson has distinguished himself in several competitions, including the Cascade Symphony’s Rising Star Concerto Competition, the Park Na International Competition, the Eastside Symphony Young Soloist Competition, and the Interlochen Center for the Arts Honors Recital. Johnson also enjoys composing; his works for cello have won several awards, including a national prize.

WQXR's Elliott Forrest will be the Master of Ceremony for the evening.

This program is presented in collaboration with the Sphinx Organization and WQXR, the official media partner for this event.
