Please join us for the premiere screening of Cell Block Tango Reimagined produced by Everybody on Stage, in collaboration with Musicals Reimagined. The evening will include the screening as well as a talkback with some of the talented performers and creatives who brought this story to life.
STORY: Six talented performers assemble. Through each verse and chorus of the Cell Block Tango, we hear each individual performer’s backstories/the thematic crux: That even though the world seems to be trending in a more inclusive way, there's an undeniable and historically-driven fear that it's just that; a trend. The number is fierce/a call to action that things still have a ways to go; that we need to get to a point where we are all seen as equals, not defined solely by our differences. Each artist is exemplary in their talents, making it undeniable that they would be an asset to any production.
PLEASE NOTE: This project deals with the topics of racism, fatphobia, abelism, ageism, sexism, gender identity, and homophobia.
COVID POLICY: Please wear a mask when walking around, entering and exiting the building, going to the bathroom, or going to the bar. Proof of Vaccination is required for entrance into the building. The event will maintain the 50% capacity limit.
ACCESIBILITY INFORMATION: The screening will be provided with open Captions. A cement ramp leads up to the double-door entrance with a threshold of 1 inch. Although the venue offers no automatic features, each venue room has double door entrances. bathrooms are located on the main floor, with push doors that swing inside revealing one accessible stall in each room. It is important to note that although the stall doors each measure 36 inches wide, the entrance into the bathrooms is 32 inches. Each accessible stall door swung outwards, and contained two grab bars around the toilets. Sink height was 29 inches with plenty of clearance space underneath. The hand drier was motion censored and at an appropriate height. For a more detailed breakdown please reference http://www.accessto.ca/home/2016/1/27/tranzac-club
