Join Katharine for a Celestial Journey, the perfect blend of Sound Healing and Yoga Nidra. During this 90-minute session, Katharine will create a deeply restful, transformative, and restorative experience. Both Sound Healing and Yoga Nidra work by activating our parasympathetic nervous system, moving the mind and body from Fight or Flight into a state of Rest and Digest.

The Sound Healing element of this experience brings the body and mind into a state of deep relaxation and energetic alignment. The vibrations of the instruments harmonize with the vibrations of the energetic body, releasing dis-harmony and dis-ease that we may hold in the body as a result of life events and the high levels of stress that we experience in today's modern world.
Yoga Nidra, otherwise known as "Yogic Sleep" is the arrival at a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. The process involves moving from Beta brain wave state, our typical awakened state with lots of activity, to Alpha which is a more relaxed state. In Alpha state the mood-regulating hormone Serotonin is released. From Alpha we go into Theta, a dream state where thoughts begin to slow down, and where super learning and emotional integration occurs. From Theta we move to Delta where your thoughts are significantly slowed down. Delta is the most restorative state, in which organs regenerate and the stress hormone cortisol is removed from the system. From Delta, you may experience an even deeper brain-wave state - one that can't be reached through conventional sleep - a state of deep surrender.
Yoga Nidra literally changes the fluctuations of the mind. Biological sleep only refreshes the bodymind and cannot promote self-realizations like Yoga Nidra can. YN incorporates intention setting, breath and body awareness, and visualizations. The intention is not to fall asleep, but to arrive at a relaxed state that brings the body into its natural state of equilibrium, where the conscious and unconscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves and we fall into and innate state of deep, blissful awareness.
The practice will involve little to no movement, in a comfortable reclined position. You can expect to leave the experience with a sense of peace. People often consider the experience similar to having a deeply rejuvenating nap.
