5p CELEBRITY CAREGIVER (dir by Frank Heygi, Parrot House Productions, documentary, USA)

Followed by filmmaker Q&A

When family tragedy propels a local gas station owner into the world of international celebrity, can he hold onto the man he used to be? Is that man even worth preserving? This reality-bending documentary is what Awards Wire calls "a stunning meditation on the healing power of self promotion." Featuring appearances by Martha Stewart, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Rod Stewart, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Ice Tea and Coco, Evander Holyfield, Ashton Kutcher, Larry and David Ellison, Suzanne Summers, David Blaine, Marc Benioff, Kaitlin Jenner, Rick Caruso, and introducing…Dave Nassaney, the Celebrity Caregiver.

Filmmaker Frank Heygi pulls off a kind of documentary magic trick as he both scrutinizes and humanizes U.S. culture's almost manic need to achieve some kind of celebrity.

A true documentary for our strange times.
