Celebrations & Reflections - 19th and 20th Century in Waverley

Join us for morning tea in the Waverley Library Galleries with the Waverley Historical Society.

This year, the Waverley Historical Society presents an exhibition about the history of churches, synagogues and places of worship in the community throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. This exhibition not only considers sacred buildings as architectural forms but also as meeting places, central to the lives of local residents. From Sunday schools to Parish picnics these places became backdrops to social cohesion and provided a sense of belonging for many Waverley residents.

Exhibition on view from August 23 – September 18, 2024.
