Celebration of Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park- Clay County, FL
About this Event
You are invited to join the Old-Growth Forest Network and Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park to celebrate the induction of a very special part of the Florida Trail into the Network! The Old-Growth Forest Network is creating a map of mature, protected forests, and the people who steward them. Gold Head Branch State Park has been selected as the Clay County, FL representative as a site with an incredible remnant old-growth Longleaf Pine forest.
Attendees are encouraged to prepare with full water bottles, sunscreen and hats, appropriate footwear for a moderate hike, and anything else that would make the approximately 2 hour event comfortable. We plan on this event moving forward rain or shine, so please plan accordingly! We hope you will consider joining us for this event recognizing the forest and the people who care for it. See you there!
**Please note that there is a $5 per vehicle day use fee is required and can be purchased at the entrance. (park admission can also be purchased ahead of time online at https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/mike-roess-gold-head-branch-state-park)**
