A Celebration of Life honoring Marge Takier will be held during the California Balboa Classic, bringing together dancers, friends, and community members to remember her life, legacy, and the warmth she shared with so many.Marge was a dancer, DJ, partner, and beloved figure in the swing and Balboa community. She played a central role in the legendary Bobby McGee’s Sunday dances and was widely known for her love of music, her joyful presence, and the way she made people feel welcome and at home. Her influence continues to be felt in dance venues and events around the world today.
The program will include reflections from those who knew Marge, shared memories from her life in dance and music, and time to honor her lasting impact on the community. Music and dancing in her honor may follow, as time allows.

Although this gathering is hosted by the California Balboa Classic, it is free and open to anyone who wishes to attend, whether or not you are registered for the event. All are welcome to come pay their respects and celebrate Marge’s life.
