Note the change of date: The service will be held on February 8.Beloved friend to many and longtime member of MCC Tampa, Ginny Walker, transitioned into God’s loving and eternal embrace on Tuesday evening, December 3.
Ginny is survived by her loving wife, Rev. Doreen Shambrook; sister-in-law, Bonnie Walker; nieces and nephews: Michael Walker and his spouse, Bridgette, Scott Andrews, and his spouse, Jeanette, Jamie Heinz, and her spouse, Frank, and Tracy Welsh Kelly, and her spouse, Aiden, nine great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews; And by her beloved family of choice in MCC and the LGBTQA+ community.
Ginny was very involved in MCC Tampa, including serving on multiple committees, the Board of Directors, serving as a Lay Delegate, and a faithful volunteer in the church office. Ginny also supported the Florida Network of MCC Churches as a network co-leader for many years.
We will be holding Ginny’s Celebration of Life at MCC Tampa on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Ginny loved food and fellowship. We will be having a potluck meal after the service. I hope you will join us in celebrating this wonderful woman who loved our community so much.
