Cathleen “Cathie” Dawn Arce, born July 9, 1955, in Oakland, California, passed away with her family at her side, on July 5, 2026, in Fremont, California.
Cathie was the daughter of Charles Raynor, retired Oakland Police Sergeant, and Georgia Raynor, a devoted mother of seven children. She grew up in the East Bay and attended local schools, including Pacific High School in San Leandro. Cathie met her husband, Rick, in middle school; what began as a childhood friendship grew into a lifelong love, and together they shared nearly 52 years of marriage.
Cathie is survived by her husband Rick Arce, daughter Marissa Campa, son Derek Arce, several beloved grandchildren, and her sisters Patti Bowman, Charmaine Scott, and Carla Blaiser. She is preceded in death by her son Kolin Morlatt, whom she and Rick lovingly raised as their own after the passing of Cathie’s younger sister.
From 1980 to the present, Cathie, Rick, and their family proudly operated Ace Embossing and Graphics Inc. in Milpitas, a successful small family business built on dedication, craftsmanship, and community trust.
Cathie was known for her remarkable green thumb. She was an expert gardener who could identify nearly any plant species and knew exactly how to care for them. Her garden was a reflection of her spirit—vibrant, nurturing, and full of beauty.
Cathie was deeply familycentered, often hosting large gatherings to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of her homemade cakes, pies, cookies, and candy, which she joyfully shared during the holidays.
In her leisure time, Cathie enjoyed traveling, watching soap operas and crime shows. Chicago PD was her favorite, as the characters reminded her of her father’s strength, integrity, and service.
Cathie’s legacy is one of love, generosity, resilience, and devotion to family.
