The local music world is coming together to celebrate two beloved musicians, Peter Flava Page and Donald Duck Campbell, at a tribute concert on Sunday, April 6,2025, from 5 to 10 p.m. at White's of Westport.
Guitar Innovator
Peter Flava Page, a Providence native, picked up the guitar at 15 and quickly made a name for himself. He was known for his electrifying solos and was among the first in the
local scene to experiment with effects pedals, even programming them himself.
Page spent much of his life in New Bedford and Fall River, performing with bands like Brand New Flava and Real Deal. His unique sound and technical skills made him a
stand out in the music community.
Master of the Keys
Donald Duck Campbell's musical journey began in church, where he honed his gospel roots before blending them with R&B and funk. A powerhouse on the Hammond B3 organ with Leslie speakers, his playing left a lasting impact.
Originally from New Jersey, Campbell moved to Providence, performing with various bands and even touring Cape Verde with Tiny Tavares of the Tavares Brothers. He played with Angelena & the Unit most recently, bringing his signature soulful sound to
every performance.
Remembering Their Legacy
Promoter Lorraine Telo, who worked closely with both musicians, reflected on their passing:
"They've performed at shows that I promoted, which not only led to a professional relationship but also a friendship. It's particularly sad when we lose talented musicians in the music world, especially at such a young age.
Bassist CC Biggs of World Premiere and Outta Control praised both musicians and stated they will be deeply missed for their music and the people they were.
A Night of Music & Tribute
An all-star lineup featuring World Premiere, Slick Fantaztic, Steppin' Out featuring New Image, Mac Odom, Outta Control, and Angelena & the Unit will perform alongside special guests Mario Corbino, John Valentino, Mark Love, and Kevin Gomes.

Proceeds will benefit the Berklee Scholarship Foundation, ensuring future generations can pursue their musical dreams.
