About this Event
The LSU Manship School of Mass Communication will celebrate the life and work of Stanley Nelson at the Louisiana Old State Capitol, which is now a museum under the Secretary of State’s office, in Baton Rouge. This ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd, at 5 p.m.
Nelson, longtime editor of the Concordia Sentinel and Pulitzer Prize finalist, investigated unsolved Klan murders and wrote over 150 stories exposing racial violence in Ferriday and Natchez. His work brought justice, closure, and inspired countless journalists.
National reporters and former students will share stories, and families of victims will attend. This event is open to the public.
