About this Event
Join Us for Celebrating Sacramento Women!
Get ready for an inspiring reception all about honoring the amazing women of Sacramento. Celebrating centuries of leadership by Sacramento-area women.
They rose above discrimination, cruelty, poverty and indifference to make life better for so many they would never even meet — and strengthen our community as a legacy.
In partnership with the Sacramento County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, the Sacramento Museum celebrates influential women throughout the Sacramento region’s history — from time immorial to today.
The exhibit marks the nation’s 250th anniversary and Women’s History Month — which California started and the nation adopted in 1980.
Discover here some of the countless ways some of these women changed our politics, economy and culture through their courage, compassion and tenacity.
Their contributions have come in the quiet grace of serving hungry families hot plates of home cooking, in the impassioned plea for a nation to turn away from hatred, in the lasting remembrance of our community’s wartime sacrifices.
