About this Event
We are excited to share details about a series of upcoming film screenings at Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State and Goucher College, celebrating the ouevre of award-winning Afro-Cuban film maker Gloria Rolando. Events take place Nov. 11th (JHU), Nov. 13th (Morgan State) and Nov. 18th (Goucher College).
Since 1991, Gloria has created and publishing a series of documentaries she calls "Histories and Images of Our People" (with information on AfroCubaWeb), inlcuding Oggun: An Eternal Present (1991), My Footsteps in Baraguá (1996), (1997), Raices de Mi Corazon/Roots of My Heart (2001), and Reembarque / Reshipment (2014).
We welcome you to gather with us to screen Eyes of the Rainbow/Ojos del arco iris (1997) at Johns Hopkins University. The screening will include a panel discussion with Angela Caroll, Dr. Amaka Okechukwu, Dr. Guadalupe García, and Sharayna A. Christmas.
