Celebrating American Composers with Classical Saxophone

The recital will be held in the chapel of the church, enter through the glass doors on Stratford Road.

Classical saxophonist Maureen Walsh is thrilled to return to 2nd Presbyterian, joined by pianist Nikola Paskalov and cellist Dr. Emily Doveala. In anticipation of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the program will feature mostly Walsh's original arrangements and highlights the richness and diversity of American composition.

Audiences will enjoy the tender charm of Aaron Copland's Duo, a thrilling medley from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, a selection from John Williams' saxophone concerto from the movie Catch Me if You Can, and Tallahatchie Concerto by Dutch composer Jacob Ter Velduis, a vivid soundscape inspired by the American West.
