Recognising 50 years of supporting innovation and collaboration through Innovate UK’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme
About this Event

Mae'r gwahoddiad hwn hefyd ar gael yn y Gymraeg | This invite is also available in Welsh

2025 marks the 50th year of KTP. As a bridge between academia and industry, the KTP programme has empowered and enabled organisations of all sizes to innovate and thrive.

We invite you to join us at this special celebration event where, you’ll hear first-hand from Cardiff Met academics, business partners, and KTP Associates about the real impact these projects have delivered. Innovate UK will also share valuable insights into the KTP programme.

Whether you are already engaged on a KTP or are new to the programme and want to explore how it could benefit your business or academic career, this event is an excellent opportunity to learn more. The programme also includes an interactive panel discussion, a Q&A session, and dedicated time for networking.

UK wide, just some of KTP’s successes include:

• Delivery of over 14,000 transformational projects with SME’s, large companies, charities and public sector organisations.

• Those 14,000 projects have generated £5.50 for every £1 invested, meaning KTP has contributed billions to the UK economy.

• KTP is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious innovation programmes, with the first project starting in 1975.

• Currently supporting over 800 business of all sizes in partnerships with about 100 Universities and other research and technology organisations.

For Cardiff Met’s part of the story, we've had 84 completed projects across the years and are currently second in Welsh Universities in terms of our current live projects. Many of these projects have been either part or fully funded by Welsh Government; we continue to be appreciative of both funders.

Please join us on the 18 November as we celebrate 50 years of the KTP programme and the extraordinary power of collaborative partnerships.
