Celebrate with Central Current

As we round out our third year of publishing, Central Current is excited to unveil a series of major developments in how we deliver our coverage.
Every day we speak to people who share our belief that local news can be nourishing, sophisticated, and engaging. Moving forward, we will begin introducing several new contributors and completely revamping the look and feel of our website in support of that vision.
We invite you to join us on Thursday, May 1st from 5 – 7 pm at the Salt City Market Café & Bar to celebrate Central Current’s growth, visit with staff, and to join us in launching our Spring 2025 campaign. This event is free and open to the public.
Guests will also have the chance to meet our newest staff member, a columnist familiar to many CNY residents who we will be formally announcing closer to the event.

Over the coming months, you will see the following new additions gradually appear as you return to Central Current from late April through July:

• A new website with cleaner layouts, more functionality, and a fresh logo.
• Regular columns from a soon-to-be-announced contributor: a columnist with deep ties to Syracuse and Upstate NY.
• Photojournalism exhibits and photo stories that hold a mirror up to our community.
• Coverage from our new Report For America staff reporter on I-81 and public housing.
• More public events that spark dialogue among residents, elected officials, community leaders, and journalists.
