Celebrate The Summer Solstice With An Encounter With The Green Man
Prairie Folklore Theatre is excited to announce a partnership with the Peoria Area’s premiere British pub, The Fox Pub and Café, to present an ongoing series of summer and winter solstice events!
Monday June 17, at 7:00 PM, we will perform “An Encounter With the Green Man: A Celtic Summer Solstice Celebration” Tickets are only $15. The last event, the Winter Solstice, sold out early and we had to turn away lots of folks at the door, so please call 309-692-FOX3 for reservations. Plan to come at 6:00 for Dinner before the show! One critic has said, “They have the best fish and chips this side of the pond!”
This unique program features storyteller and poet Brian “Fox” Ellis, singer songwriter Barry Cloyd.
Through ancient stories and modern poetry, original music and traditional folk tunes we celebrate our connections to the natural rhythms at the turning of the seasons. From Jethro Tull’s “Jack in The Green” to the old English ballad, “John Barley Corn Must Die’, from Finn MacCoul’s poem “In Praise of Summer” to William Butler Yeat’s “Song of the Wandering Angus,” this delightful blending of old and new is sure to warm a smile, melting away the vestiges of winter and welcoming the return of the longest days!
The Fox Pub and Café is located at 7800 N. Sommer St. off Pioneer Parkway. Please visit their web page for more information:

Please call Brian “Fox” Ellis for any question or for an interview: 309-696-1017.
