Transport & Address: We will be working at Strawberry Bank off the Marlow Road. Parking is limited . We will meet at the Chiltern Rangers depot at 9.30 and the team will take you up to site in our vehicles. We then will be on site between approx 10 and 3.

The depot address is Kingsmead Depot, 60 Fennels Road, High Wycombe, HP11 1SL. Unfortunately there isn't any free parking on Fennels Road, the car park costs 50p per hour or £2.50 a day - card or Ringo.

The car park across Kingsmead Recreation Ground, accessed from Kingsmead Road, is free parking and you can walk across to join us from there. Postcode HP11 1JQ.

The Task:

We will be working as a team to cut back and tree pop scrub that is crowding out the chalkgrassland flora that is food for several priority species of butterfly. We are likely to have a couple of warming fires going too.

Strawberry Bank is a beautiful site but steep, so please wear footwear with good ankle support and grip. Expect more of a work out than flatter sites, not the site to come to if you are feeling under the weather! One where we will all pace ourselves and enjoy the view from time to time!

What to Bring: Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task - long trousers and covered arms are advisable as there is thorny vegetation and supportive, grippy boots essential. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of fluids!

We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.

Volunteering and COVID-19:

Please do not attend sessions if you have tested positive for COVID or if you have COVID symptoms e.g. a new continuous cough, a high temperature, a loss of, or change in your normal sense of taste or smell.
