Hosted by WSB-TV’s Condace Pressley, public festivities will run on October 23, 2021 from 11 AM - 4 PM and include:
11 AM: Community Dance & Live Drumming
12 PM: Ribbon Uniting Ceremony
1 PM - 4 PM: Performances, Food Trucks, Music & More!
First 250 attendees receive a free swag bag!
10/24: Ailey Arts in Education & Community Programs
Ailey Arts In Education & Community Programs provides an elite artistic experience to young dancers at Moving in the Spirit, Atlanta dance lovers, and Atlanta’s pre-professional and professional dance community. Workshops will be taught by Nasha Thomas, Ailey Master Teacher and National Director, AileyCamp, and former company member with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
Presented as part of the City of Atlanta’s ELEVATE festival, in partnership with Destination Dance Ailey Atlanta and Dance Canvas.
Moving in the Spirit Student Workshops*
10 AM - 11 AM: Student workshop, ages 10-16, advanced beginner
11:15 AM - 12:15 PM: Student & Alumni workshop, ages 16+, intermediate. Proof of vaccination required.
*To participate in these workshops, you must be a registered student with Moving in the Spirit or a post K-12 Moving in the Spirit alumnus. Masks required.

Dance Canvas Artist-to-Artist Workshops
2 PM - 3 PM: Community - All levels
3:15 PM - 4:45 PM: Professional - Int./Adv.
Registration for Artist-to-Artist workshops will open on October 1st at www.dancecanvas.com. Vaccinations requested for participants; masks required.

Moving in the Spirit is located at 1458 La France St NE, Atlanta, GA 30307, with limited street parking.
We are easily accessible by train — right next to MARTA’s Edgewood/Candler Park station — and we strongly encourage the use of public transportation or ridesharing services.
If you must drive, limited street parking is available near our facility along LaFrance Street. Additional free parking is available on the DeKalb Avenue side of the Edgewood/Candler Park MARTA station at 1475 DeKalb Ave, NE Atlanta, GA 30307. Simply park in the lot, ascend the stairs, and cross the bridge over DeKalb Avenue to arrive at Moving in the Spirit.
