David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band is generally recognized as one of the nation's premier traditional jazz ensembles. Inspired by the noble jazz pioneers Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Duke Ellington, Jelly Roll Morton and their colleagues, the band breathes life and passion into America’s own great art form.Currently engaged in the 26th year of its weekly Wednesday residency at New York City's Birdland Jazz Club, it has gained an international reputation with appearances at the Newport Jazz Festival, the Nairn International Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center's Midsummer's Night Swing, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, at Jazz in July at the 92nd Street Y, at Lionel Hampton’s New Orleans-style funeral procession, among others.

Kevin Blancq's Crescent City Six

Kevin Blancq & The Crescent City Six, led by trumpeter and educator Kevin Blancq, brings the spirit and swing of New Orleans jazz to the stage with style, warmth, and deep musical tradition. Rooted in the rhythmic drive, blues feeling, and collective improvisation that define classic New Orleans ensembles, the group honors the early jazz tradition while keeping the music fresh and vibrant for today’s audiences. Blancq, a New Orleans native based in New York City, has spent decades performing, teaching, and championing jazz, including his long service as director of the jazz bands at LaGuardia High School. Through his leadership, the Crescent City Six delivers an engaging sound that blends musicianship, history, and joy, making every performance a celebration of the city where jazz was born.
